MARGARITAVILLE RESORT ORLANDO INTRODUCES NEW FURNITURE COLLECTION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ETHAN ALLEN

Margaritaville Resort Orlando today introduced an exclusive new Margaritaville-inspired furniture collection in partnership with iconic furniture company, Ethan Allen. Those purchasing a vacation home at the resort will have the unique opportunity to select from one of four new Ethan Allen themed packages.

 

“Our partnership with Ethan Allen, an esteemed brand that has molded the furniture industry for more than 80 years, provides our vacation rental owners with an easy, turn-key “rent ready” furniture package to create the atmosphere of their new Margaritaville vacation home,” said James Bagley, project developer at Margaritaville Resort Orlando. “The furniture collection will be available exclusively to vacation home owners at Margaritaville Resort Orlando.” 

 

Featuring a range of high-quality offerings for the bedroom, kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as accent pieces including colorful pillows, artwork, area rugs and lightning, the packages include:

  • Beach House: With weathered finishes and seashell tones, this furniture package is made for lazy days and sandy toes. Beach House offers charming, sun-kissed, cottage-style furniture with sea glass, mother-of-pearl and coral-look accent pieces.
  • License to Chill: License to Chill® offers an easy beachcomber attitude with a sense of adventure. This look blends natural textures and warm wood finishes with energetic yellow, orange, and turquoise accents. Highlights include charming shutter-style bedsand cabinets, well-built rustic wood tables, driftwood accents, and hip colorful pillows.

Free-to-Play LEGOLAND Florida App Wins Multiple Awards

Quest to LEGOLAND®, a fun, free-to-play app that turns the family road trip into an engaging adventure for kids, recently received multiple awards at the 64th International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France. The annual event draws thousands of advertising and marketing professionals from around the world for a celebration of creative excellence in communications, including the announcement of the prestigious Cannes Lions awards.

Instead of providing traditional turn-by-turn navigation, the app lets kids unlock themed missions, play car games, answer trivia questions and learn about passing landmarks as location information pops up while they play.

WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING LESSON RETURNS TO AQUATICA THIS THURSDAY

Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark is hosting the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ on Thursday, June 22. Guests are invited to help set a world record and participate in a swimming lesson instructed by Aquatica lifeguards.

 

Event registration begins at 9 a.m. at the park’s Big Surf Shores wave pool. The swim lesson will take place from 10 – 10:30 a.m. and each participant will receive a special certificate upon completion.

 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member and three-time Olympic gold medalist, Ambrose “Rowdy” Gaines will be onsite to lend a helping hand with the lesson and meet participants.

 

Drowning is one of the top five causes of death for children between the ages 1-14.  Research has found if a child does not learn to swim before the 3rd grade, they likely never will. The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson was created to draw attention to this fact and encourage participation in swimming lesson programs. Tens of thousands of kids and adults at aquatic facilities around the world will all take part for the eighth year in a row to attempt to set a new Guinness World Record.

SeaWorld welcomes baby walrus

A whiskered walrus baby was welcomed to SeaWorld Orlando on June 3, when a 14-year old female, Kaboodle, gave birth to her first calf just after midnight. Kaboodle and her baby immediately began to bond and the pair remain close at all times, even snuggling with each other as they sleep.

Throughout her pregnancy the park’s animal husbandry and veterinary teams provided extensive pre-natal care and regular ultrasounds. The new arrival has already brought great joy to the teams, especially when mom and calf vocalize with each other.

Kaboodle’s calf is the first baby walrus born at SeaWorld Orlando. Walruses are extraordinary creatures. The park’s walrus program plays an important role in educating the public about these amazing animals. While walruses are not yet listed as a threatened species, they have been affected due to global climate change. Kaboodle and her calf will soon inspire park guests to learn more about the plight of walruses in the wild.

Walrus populations have stabilized since 19th century commercial hunting was outlawed, but still face habitat challenges from warming temperatures and a thinning ice pack.  SeaWorld Orlando has cared for orphaned walrus calves with the permission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the SeaWorld Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has provided research assistance on the Pacific walrus and the impact of dwindling floating sea ice.

Calves are born with robust whiskers which aid in detecting the shellfish that are part of their diet.  Both males and females have large tusks that used for defense, cutting through ice and getting out of the water.

Kaboodle and her calf are currently not on public display. They remain under 24 hour care with the husbandry team to ensure both mom and calf continue to thrive and bond together.

Premiere of Cars 3

 Disney Parks blog hosted a Meetup with the opportunity to preview Pixars Cars 3!

According to Theater staff people started lining up for the movie as early as 10:30 a.m. even though the guest were pre-chosen you can say that some of them were more than excited about the opportunity to see this movie first.

Prior to screening the movie guests were given complimentary free popcorn and free soda along with a very special Cars 3 key chain.

Upon entering the theater we were greeted by hosts from the Disney park blog who seemed just as excited to meet us as we were to meet them.

During the pre-show we were introduced to Mr. Fittipaldi who was one of the voices in the Brazilian version of the movie.

Disney also treated us to a premiere of Pixar’s latest short LOU.

Pixar really hits a home run with its latest Cars movie. The graphics and the detail that go into this movie are amazing and of course in true Pixar fashion there are lots of little visual moments that make you giggle.
 This was a premiere so I will not give away any of the details to the movie but will definitely say that it was wonderful and a must-see.
